21 June Visited the painted monasteries of Voronet and Humor
We slept two days at the Voronet cabana along the Moldova river. It is a very nice place to stay. Good clean rooms, fresh water and you can swim in the river. The monastries are really worth visiting. They are almost all UNESCO monuments. Especially the Voronet monastry is gorgeous. The blue colour is so typical that in painting terms they use 'Voronet Blue'. Fresco's of the last judgement Can be found on the outside of every painted monastery. This was also the last day that we were the three of us. Minco took a train back to Bucarest. We had two weeks of our holiday left and continued our trip to the west to Maramures and then to the south. See map 2 for the itinerary of our second week of cycling.
