Holiday in Romania

2 July Bike to Brasov and watched bears

2 July would be our last biking day from Sinaia to Brasov. The road was downhill so quite easy. We made a detour to leave the main road and take a smaller and quieter road to the east downwards via Rasnov. At the pass to the east of Predeal, we had a wonderful view on the Munti Bucegi. In Brasov, we slept at the central situated Coroana Hotel, which also has cheap and clean rooms in the Postavarul part of the Hotel. There we met again with Claudinne and Regis, two French friends, which we learned at the wedding. We visted the old centre of Brasov. This is dominated by the old council house at centre of the renovated square. At night, we asked several people where the place was to watch wild bears. According to our Rough Guide, this would be possible at an outskirt of the town called Racadau. A taxi driver brought us to the place. It was amazing to see the bears coming out between the trees to eat the rubbish that the local people put in containers. We also saw a hurdle of wild dogs. The authors of the Rough guide states they look like dogs, but are wolves. Who knows?
